Lasagna with Meat Sauce

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of prepared Italian Sauce with meat (use both hot Italian sausage and ground beef)
  • 1 15 oz. container of Ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Garlic powder & Onion powder
  • Ground pepper
  • Ground nutmeg
  • 2 packages of grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 box lasagna noodles, prepare as directed on the box

Directions

  1. Heat meat sauce in a medium size sauce pan until medium hot
  2. Preheat oven to 350
  3. Place Ricotta cheese in a medium sized bowl. Add egg, dried spices and ½ cup of Parmesan cheese and mix until well blended
  4. Place one cup of meat sauce on the bottom of a large rectangular pan. Start layering by first putting down one layer of cooked noodles. Then top with 1/3 of the cheese mixture and spread over hot noodles. Sprinkle
    with grated mozzarella cheese and top with about a cup of sauce to cover. Continue layering 2 more times. End with a layer of noodles and spread with remaining sauce. Top with the rest of the Parmesan cheese and any mozzarella cheese left
  5. Place into oven and cook for 30 minutes or until bubbling around the edges
  6. Remove from oven and let stand for 5-10 minutes to cool. Cut into squares and serve
